Olympics Artwork
To create this piece of artwork our class had to work collaboratively or else none of us would be finished. This challenge was set for us to work collaboratively to show sportsmanship. Sportsmanship is one of the big things that are used in the Olympics wich is why we created this piece of artwork. Before we were able to move onto the next step we had to help our classmates so that no one was left behind. First, we grabbed some shapes and drew them on a piece of newsprint and then when we had our final design transferred the design to proper paper were we would be colouring in pastel with. We choose a colour and then found different shades by using different pastels or blending them in to make darker or lighter colours.when our athlete had been printed we glued it on a piece of black paper, cut it out and then took the paper off. With that piece of paper, we glued it onto our artwork. It thinks it looks amazing in our classroom and like very colourful when they are displayed.
Magic Box Poem - By Zeba
I will put into the box …
The pleasurable scent of Lilacs,
A yard full of kittens coloured pearl white, ginger and black,
The stories told, passed down from my ancestors to me to my generation,
I will put into the box …
A meadow full of bunnies scampering across the fields,
A bakery filled with scrumptious cakes muffins and loaves of bread,
The tropical fruits from the pacific islands,
I will put into the box …
An antique box filled with ruby, emerald, sapphire and topaz jewels shimmering and sparkling,
The sweet harmony of birds caroling in the meadows,
Frothy whipped cream melting at the touch of my tongue
My box is fashioned Lapis and emerald blocks from Minecraft with diamonds from mount jubilee, with pink ivory wood on the lid and decorated with word of wisdom in the corners.
Its hinges let no dreams escape
I shall lock out all of my fears in my box
This is my magic box poem. Our goal was to create powerful imagery to in our own words to create a picture in the reader's mind. I found that creating a magic box poem can be so much fun because you can let your imagination run wild and there is no end to how crazy it can be.
Run, Jump, Throw - Week 4
This week with Andy at Run, Jump, Throw our discipline is still focusing on our jumping skills. We recapped some things we did last. We learn the two different styles of jumps which are Fosbury ( named after Dick Fosbury) and the scissor-kick. We were practicing our scissor kicks and how it goes either left, left, right, right or right, right, left, left which ever way you feel comfortable. We had turns jumping over poles and had a choice whether we want to jump over the shorter one or higher and whether they want to perform the J run up from the left or the right. Many people preferred the right J run up. This helped me get used to the J run up because before I wasn't so sure how to and that it was hard to perform but I realized that it make high jumps much easier.

Warriors Sponsorship - DTR
This Wednesday DTR sponsored Ryan Hoffman and Jhon Pahlavi with them was also Georgia who ran the assembly. DTR also took 15 people who won VIP tickets to go and see the warriors play their game. They came to our school and talk about our health and well -being such as hydration, sleep and belonging. First, they showed a video about what they do and some clips from their games. We also played a trivia wich asked us questions about the games they played and they also. The things they talked also related to one of our inquiry topics we have been focusing on wich is Hauora the fall walls wich are Taha Tinana, Taha Hinengaro, Taha Wairua, Taha Whanau. If one of the 4 walls falls down the rest collapse as well. They gave out spot prizes for people who answered the correct questions and people who were able to participate in the activities. Some were given ( Warrior themed) bottles and some were given bags . Thanks to Alice from DTR for this opportunity otherwise this would not have happened and Ryan, John and Georgia for spending their time to come and take to our school and they did such a great job.

Current Events
One of the biggest things that happened in the Olympics is how Abby and Nikki helped each other out in the race. This answers the question why, what, how, when and where. This is such a great and outstanding example of team spirit, Olympic spirit, and sportsmanship.

Should Host Countries Spend So Much Money On The Olympics?
Mrs. Anderson introduced us to the learning intention where we consider both points of views when forming a decision or opinion. There are two opinions about should host countries spend lots of money on stadiums and venues. My opinion is yes and the reasons why I say that have been put together in a paragraph. I also collected information from my classmate Afu she disagrees with me and all her ideas have been put together in a paragraph aswell. This google drawing also includes what provocation means and I used this in my google d.rawing

Fractions/Decimals Game
This week we were practicing our number knowledge for our IKAN test. We had to play some games which fit our level, I had to learn more about decimals and fractions. In this game, me (player 1) and Nazella (player 2) played. We had 6 questions each and if we put the incorrect answer in, our points decreased. I really improved on fractions but I think I need to practice more.
Run Jump Throw - Week 2
This week at run, jump, throw we recapped last week's activities. We were reminded of the proper way to run.
- High knees - You will exaggerate this but when it comes to running in a race it will be less exaggerated .
- Cheek to cheek - Bend you arms and cheek to cheek means past your face and butt, this keeps your body still.
- Straight Back
- Looking straight - Focused ahead
- Light Feet - On the balls of your feet
- Run in a straight line
Afterwards, we ran relays with the correct form of running. We learnt the starter positions how we had to stand one metre away then when they say 'on your mark' then walk up to the line, 'set' get into your stance and then the gunfire sounds. We then got into partners and worked on our reaction time wich is how quick we react when the race begins.

Run Jump Throw - Week 1
This week was our first run jump throw lesson with Andy for this year. In this lesson we were focusing on the way we were running and the comparison between the proper style of running and the mistakes that we make. Afterwards, we worked on exaggerating the high knee movement because when we are running we will do it correctly. We jumped over obstacles to work on our high knees. All of us had a great time with Andy and can't wait for next week's session.

The students who participated received certificates and the top active three bloggers were Aj,Nesi, and Daniel. Our school again was the most active out of all schools who participated.
