Summer learning journey - Day 2

Here are three safety tips you should know before you go on a plane ride!

1. To inflate your life jacket pull the red tab before you exit.
2.For the beginning and ending of your flight remember put your seat belt of and not to take of until you are told by a airplane crew.
3. If an oxygen mask drops down pull it and place it over your mouth and nose and pull the two strings

Those are the three rules you must no when boarding a plane. I learnt these while watching the

Men In Black Safety Defenders #AirNZSafetyVideo

  1. Hi Zeba,

It's great to see that you watched the Men in Black safety video so carefully and remembered these three rules. They are all very important and they will help to keep you safe while on board an airline. Fortunately, I have never had to use the life jacket or oxygen mask while flying but I read yesterday that a flight from Tokyo to Auckland experienced very bad turbulence and that they were worried that it might need to make an emergency landing. It was good to be reminded that we all have to watch the safety videos carefully and to be prepared in case of an emergency.

Had you ever seen this particular air safety video before? It is a new one from Air New Zealand and it's one of my favourites. I really like the way that some of the All Blacks are involved along with a few other famous rugby players from other countries around the world, like England.

Are you a rugby fan by any chance? I have started watching it because my son, Aronui, really likes to play sports and is talking about playing rugby at school. He's only 5 years old so I'm not sure if he'll end up playing but he's pretty keen, by the sound of things!

Wishing you a fun (and safe!) day,

    Rachel
